Argentine tango is a music and dance form originating in the Rio de la Plata region of South America. Here at Tango Bellingham, we teach the improvised social form of the dance, both open and close embrace, with occasional excursions into the newer, modern forms of the dance. We emphasize the connection with your partner, with the music, with the other dancers on the floor, and with the traditional Argentine culture that infuses the dance.
Let us introduce you to this captivating, sensual dance.
Beware those who tango, but who do not Dance.

The workshop with Marjorie and Patty was a great success. Thanks to all who came. And for those of you who didn't, well...you missed out on all the fun!

Here's a really good interview with Gustavo Naveira - some really profound thoughts. And if you don't know who Gustavo is, you need to get out more! Tangowise, that is.
Here's a couple of articles, one from Linda Valentino of PuroTango in Los Angeles, What's Wrong with Our Tango, and The Milonga is Not the Place to Teach by Raul Cabral. Linda and Raul don't pull any punches, and what they say is vital to understand if the tango scene here and elsewhere is going to improve!
